My work has become an experiment in pushing the boundary between mindfulness and transcendentalism. I put a tremendous amount of creative efficacy on the tension between making the viewer (or reader) feel pressure—an effort to make the ordinary feel squeamish.

Nostalgia is an important aspect to this process. Once we trigger our memory network with images or word phrases our minds engage in a neurological flooding that sends messages to our body to feel and evoke a reaction. These reactions often differ depending on the individual. When we as individuals react to works of art similarly it transcends a personal experience to a collective experience that many refer to as a collective consciousness.

For me, this often elevates everyday life into extraordinary fragments in time. As an artist I can use the medium to take you further into my memory network or prompt you to start your own. This effect gives urgency to art creating dialogue we then shape collectively into expanding our futures or recreate the past.
